This woodwind is no longer for sale (sold on 2010-01-25)
Price : US $547.00
This auction is for a gently used Armstrong ''plastic'' bassoon. I'm a former elementary band director/music specialist who used it for recruiting and playing with the new bassoonists. You'll need a reed and will want to get the special swabs for ''spit''.
Picture #1 Shows the lid opened with the ''pieces'' seen positioned on their brown ''velvet''- covered woosupports.
Picture #2 Shows the tenor & wing joints in the back, the boot joint in the middle, and the bell with its plastic ring (facing toward the middle of the case) in the front.
Picture #3 Shows ''Armstrong'' etched in the bell about 2'' above the key on the bell. The paint /filling has been rubbed almost totally gone.
Picture #4 Is a view from one end of the case. Note the red string (instead of cork like a clarinet) on the tenons.
Picture #5 Is a view from the other end. Note the tenor joint red thread on the left and the accessory compartment on the right. The plastic ring on the bell is quite visible above the compartment..
Picture #6 Shows glare (sorry) and the red threads of the tenor joint in the rear and the closed accessory compartment
