I bought this horn a few years from an old family friend who bought it new in the early 30's, with money from selling newspapers. He played it for a couple of years then put it away, and it sat in a closet until his wife found it and got it overhauled for his 80th birthday. Unfortunately he had no interest in it and was unable to play it, and I bought it from him for $1000. This was about six years ago. I'm an alto and bari player so really haven't played it much overall myself and tough times force me to sell it. The horn has been maintained by excellent techs in the S.F. bay area since I've had it. The silver plating is nearly 100%, as is the gold in the bell, with no wear showing even under the thumb hook. The great news is this means the rods and other moving parts have similarly low wear. When the tech who overhauled it for the original owner replaced the pads, he removed the snaps so it now is fitted with normal rather than snap-in pads. There are a few very small dings on the bow, shown in the images, and some very small speckles on the plating, shown in the images as well, on the right side of the bell. Case and allegedly original (unmarked) mouthpiece included. Serial number 255xxx. FREE SHIPPING IN USA WITH BUY-IT-NOW. International shipping for actual packing/shipping cost plus $20. handling fee.On Jan-18-10 at 08:36:28 PST, seller added the following information:More images visible at http://www.markmalmberg.com/beuscherTTTenor/On Jan-23-10 at 15:34:40 PST, seller added the following information:
