Vintage MARTIN ALTO (Stencil) Saxophone: No Dent Ever
This woodwind is no longer for sale (sold on 2009-12-16)
Price : US $203.50
Very good condition vintage MARTIN (stencil) ALTO SAXOPHONE. Name on bell is INDIANA, engraved with an INDIAN CHIEF HEAD profile, made in Elkhart, Indiana, USA. Please note that this is NOT the Martin Indiana with the two bell tone holes on the left side of the bell; this is a pro older horn with the bell tone holes one on each side of the bell...(split-bell). Silver plate is 100% as I dent see any wear any where on the horn. Serial number is 6318 low pitch Alto, (not a C Melody). Same on neck...no, dings, no pull down...perfect. Serial # on STENCILS are almost impossible to date, this definitely seem to be a horn from the late '30s. No dents. Not even one dent/ding on this baby, nor previous repairs...one clean solid horn. This horn has the SWEETEST sound I have ever heard on the saxophone. Buescher perfection in tune and Selmer elasticity in sound is what comes out of this sax. It is one GREAT sounding horn from the little I can glean from it. Will need silver cleaning and overhaul...will be a very beautiful horn when done. Very nice original case. Please see pictures and my other items for sale. Shipping is via UPS.
