This is an early Phil Barone tenor mouthpiece stamped October 1, 1992, when Barone produced under the name ''Precision Crafted''. It's stamped .115 for the tip opening (an 8*) as well as the serial number CB351. The piece is in excellent plus shape all around with at least 90% of the gold-plating intact. The original facing is superb- note the razor thin rails. The interior is also beautiful and you can see the resemblance to a Guardala both in the super-thin rails and the long shelf baffle. I don't play this kind of mouthpiece, so I was surprised at how much character it has (I expected something very bright and cold). The piece is plenty bright, but not at all thin- there are nice bits of color filling it in. It allows very good depth at the bottom of the horn yet still really pops in the altissimo. Also surprising to me is how dynamically sensitive the piece is. No cap or ligature comes with the mouthpiece.
>>INTERNATIONAL: Because of its fairly high value, this will be shipped by Priority Mail insured and declared. DO NOT PAY UNTIL YOU RECEIVE AN INVOICE as insurance will be added.
