UPDATE 12/3/O9, IN CAPS ITALIC, ORIGINAL LISTING LEFT INTACT SO YOU CAN FOLLOW THE PROGRESSION OF INFORMATION: A FELLOW EBAYER HAS WRITTEN: ''Your horn is an Eb Sopranino clarinet. A piccolo clarinet is pitched in Ab and would be about 1/3 smaller than this horn'' SO WE HAVE ONE VOTE FOR SOPRANINO. ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: ''We believe this to be a metal piccolo clarinet (or possibly a sopranino clarinet, sometimes also known as a baby?), made by Pedler, in unknown key (Eb ACCORDING TO THE ABOVE). 19.4'' long. Marked ''The Pedler Elkhart Ind Premiere'' in a circle on the horn (see photos). Case marked ''Pedler Woodwinds Elkhart, Ind''. Serial number 4256 on both the main tube just above the horn and on the underside of one of the keys (see photos). Another key has the letter ''D'' stamped on its underside (also in photo). Has case (poor condition as you can see) and music stand, no reed. Overall condition is good, not mint. Horn leading edge is deformed (see photos), probably from impact. Some wear-through of the silver plating in places (see photos). All keys seem to move freely, nothing stuck from what we can tell. It can be assumed the pads are dry, worn out, old, and would need replacing if your interest is in using the instrument. As we are not experts by any means about musical instruments (our specialty is photographic equipment) please ask any questions you might have, or offer any clarifications. If this indeed a piccolo clarinet there are rarely offered here in eBay as a search of the last 3 months of auctions (via Terapeak) had found only a few
