Up for auction is a Selmer USA Omega Tenor Saxophone (Sax).  I think these were referred to as the 162/164 series.  This was the USA professional model before TS-100’s came out (I think in the 1980’s - 1990’s).  Do not confuse this Selmer USA for the ones they make today.  From what I can gather on the web - this was the USA equivalent to the Paris Mark VI, but please do your own research.

The saxophone is mechanical sound and plays beautiful.  In fact, I just took it in for a complete overhaul.  I had all dents and dings removed, the entire horn cleaned, and all new kangaroo pads installed.  It was done by one of the top restoration stores in Houston – Fleming Instrument Repair.  It was about $700.  So as far as mechanics, tuning, pads, action, cork, felt, etc, it’s practically new.  You will not have to spend any money fixing anything - I already did.  Just take it out of the case and enjoy.

The horn is a beautiful honey color with engraving on the bell, down to the bottom of the horn.  The lacquer is about 80% intact.  The only major lacquer wear in on the bottom where they took out some dents and by the bottom right hand thumb rest.  I did take some pictures of it.

The sax comes with a case, which is practically new.  I bought it off of eBay about 3 months ago to replace the old one I had.

NO MOUTHPIECE INCLUDED.
