This is a beautiful vintage, very rare Koch soprano recorder. This manufacturer was based in Haverhill, NH, USA from 1874 until 1970. The original (non-dated) brochure and cleaning rod are included with this beautiful recorder. It is made from COCOBOLO, an exotic, very hard wood with a beautiful deep red grain. The pictures I took do not do it justice. The mouthpiece shows NO wear, and the overall condition/finish of the recorder is EXCELLENT. ''KOCH / HAVERHILL / N.H.'' is inscribed on the mouthpiece. The recorder measures a standard 12 3/4''. It is in the key of C. It detaches into two pieces, and the joining cork is also in perfect condition. The workmanship is outstanding; tiny brass nailheads secure the block inside the mouthpiece. The sound can be described as soft and lustrous.
I know you will love it, but I can offer a return policy if the item is not exactly as I have described it. I will ship it Priority Mail, of course, with loving care. Thanks for looking. I have a couple of other instruments listed on eBay, too.

Both the head and foot detatch. The construction is so sturdy and seamless that I didn't think the head was separate but indeed it is. The woodgrain matches up so perfectly, and the cork is in such sturdy shape, that I didn't realize the head could be detatched. Thanks for the heads up! If you require any other photos, I can email them to you; j
