Flute Roll by Jean Cavallaro
This flute was constructed by Gerhard Kowalewsky, modelled after the flute builder Carlo Palanca (Milano, ca 1740). This particular instrument has been made of Grenadilla wood, with artificial ivory accents. Kowalewsky's flutes have been performed by a number of international flutists, including Jed Wentz (http://www.jedwentz.com/Articles/Topics/Flutes.html), who has recorded numerous CDs using his Palanca copy by Mr. Kowalewsky.
I have greatly enjoyed the gorgeous tone and exceptional volume of this flute - I can see why Mr. Wentz has enjoyed performing on his Palanca for over two decades! My particular copy has been played for approximately 25 hours, and has been oiled and lovingly cared for. The flute is in new condition - the wood is so hard that Kowalewsky's maker's stamp (which appears on each segment) is sometimes hard to discern. The 415 corps de rechange is new, having never been used at all. I have been the sole owner of this instrument, and purchased it directly from Gerhard.
The joints are threaded, as was done in the case of the historical instruments.
I'm including, free of charge, a beautiful Baroque Flute roll by Jean C
